About Smart-ups

Smart-ups is an entrepreneurial support group (started in Feb 2008) in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. We’re a local chapter of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) in Portland. Our mission is:

To improve the climate for Oregon’s Willamette Valley emerging growth-oriented companies.

Our emphasis is threefold:

EDUCATION | workshops, webinars, coaching, mentoring, etc.

NETWORKING | pub-talk events, socials, start-up expos, Facebook Page, etc.

CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT | angel and venture development, strategic partnerships, etc.

History of Smart-ups

Smart-ups was created by two Eugene area entrepreneurs – Caroline Cummings (former CEO/co-founder of OsoEco) and Nathan Lillegard (CEO/co-founder of Floragenex). They are both entrepreneurs who were seeking more local opportunities to connect with peers, partners, mentors, education and investors. As a result – Smart-ups was born in February 2008. We are always looking for ways to improve this site, so please don’t hesitate to send us your feedback.
